The Making of "The Night Knight"

Updated: Jan 2, 2021

So at first I started painting this handsome man just for a training, but in the end I donated it and I hope that it will be well taken care of. 😉

Unfortunately, this is not the final version... Just before the submission, I did a few more details, after which the owl looks a little bit better, but unfortunately I didn't take a picture of it.

The size of the painting is 30x40 cm, as always painted with acrylic paints. I also practiced a bit of using matt medium, however I definitely have to work on the feathers in the future. 😛 But that was the main purpose - training. 😉

Anyway... a little back story...

I started painting this owl for my boyfriend but we broke up shortly after that... It was bitter to continue. I eventually finished it and gave it to him as a "goodbye" gift and he liked it, I truly believe. But I can't bring myself to like this painting because when I look at it, it evoces sad feelings in me I felt right after the break up.
